LUMA DICE UPDATE - JULY
– Mon, Jul 04, 2016 at 12:15:15 AM
Hi Everyone,
Apologize for the late update, and keeping you in dark.
Just to put everyone at ease, the great news is that we have about 8,000 units ready! Woo hoo. Bad news is we need another 2-3 weeks to finish the rest of the units, we have about another 8,000 dice to go.
There are no issues to report. We have been very impressed with our manufacturer especially regarding the quality of units. But they are just a little slower than we would like.

LUMA DICE - HOW TO SWITCH MODES/PROGRAMMING FEATURES
We are very proud of the feature sets programmed in Luma Dice. By tapping the Luma Dice continuously for 10 seconds, it will switch color modes. Luma Dice will be in power saving mode when you first receive it, which means it will only light up for 1 second when you roll it or shake it. Watch this video to see the features and modes in action!

LUMA DICE UPDATE - JUNE

LUMA DICE UPDATE – JUNE
Hi everyone,
just an update on Luma Dice production.
We just need some extra time to finish production (about 20 days).
Reason being the battery contact needs to be retooled. Basically just a smaller design that has more springiness and will be made out of copper. Less complicated then it sounds, but this just holds up the final part of the production.
We are also using the extra time to refine the programming and include some power saving features. More on this very soon.
Some other news:
Dice bag
After a few designs we went with black with white writing as we thought it looked the best.
Dice bag!
Packaging - complete
We made over 12,000 packaging boxes which are ready to go. Here is a sneak peek.
Luma Dice packaging in the flesh
There will be a foam insert inside and it has a plastic window so you can see the colors before you open it.
THANK YOU AGAIN
You support is amazing, you guys are awesome! We could not have done this without you! It won't be too long now. Thanks again.

LUMA DICE update
– Wed, Apr 27, 2016 at 12:49:11 AM
Hi backers,
We are currently in China finishing off production and just running a few weeks behind schedule.
Things are going well, but after our last update we had to make a few modifications.
1. Changed the microcontroller (mini CPU) to a more powerful one. Because of all the extra programmable features the old microcontroller couldn’t handle it. Now our new one can handle a lot more functions!
2. Foam insert – inside each dice is a piece of foam that helps hold the batteries and keep the LED’s in place when rolling.
Foam insert for LUMA DICE
3. Change the dice to have 2 screws instead of 4 which looks much better!
All modifications have been completed and production has gone into full swing. The first test run has gone through and the results are great.
Our manufacturing timeline -
Next week is a Chinese holiday. So production will continue on May 8th. They will need 2 weeks to finish the flexible circuit boards and add all components. Plus 1 week to add the firmware and test all units.
Once this is done shipping will begin, and this will take place at the end of May. Once shipped it should only take 5-8 days to ship depending on your location.
Other news –
Dice Stand -
Each dice set will have 2 dice stands!

Packaging -
our designer has come up with this fantastic packaging.
LUMA DICE PACKAGING
Random fact: 25,000 dice being made, each has 21 LED’s. So we had to buy over half a million RGB LED’s. CRAZY!
Sorry for delay, but we just wanted to make sure LUMA DICE performs perfectly. We will keep you updated on the production process.
Thanks

MARCH Update - LUMA DICE!
– Sun, Mar 27, 2016 at 07:44:11 PM
WHAT HAVE WE BEEN UP TO?
Hi Kickstarter Backers, we just wanted to give you an update our progress so far. We are also sorry for the delay in the update.
About three weeks ago we arrived in China, Shenzhen to prepare Luma Dice for manufacturing. We are now in the final stages of the mass production, and things are going well. 20,000 dice ready to roll, no pun intended ;)
We estimate completion and delivery in late April. Below is just some of the things we have been working on.
CNC Aluminum Case
The factory that made all the wonderful designs you saw in our campaign can only produce 200 dice a week, so if we were to go with them delivery would take about 2 years ;) So of course we searched around to find a suitable replacement which we did and so we have chosen a much bigger and better supplier.
Circuit Board Design and Assembly
LUMA DICE flexible circuit boards!
Every dice has a circuit board – a flexible circuit board to be precise with LED’s, a microcontroller, sensor, resistors and many more parts. We had to find suppliers for each component and test the quality to make sure they are suitable. After making a samples and test runs the board development is finished.
Dice Bags
Ok talk about dice bag heaven, there a literally hundreds maybe even over a thousand manufactures that create dice bags here in China. We found one place we liked in particular and are very happy with the result.
One design concept for LUMA DICE bag
D20
We know you are excited about LUMA D20 and so I thought we might mention a few developments. We have come up with a few prototypes we want to make while we are here in China.
After talking to our metal/aluminum partner about D20, they suggested a new process we should try which would be more feasible for such a complex design.
Manufacturing for LUMA D6 is nearly complete and we will spend the rest of our time working on D20. So the Kickstarter campaign for LUMA D20 will be pushed back to May/June. Sorry we know many of you were expecting April but we have had to finish the D6 first. Hopefully it will be worth the wait.

Hi Everyone,
Just want to let you know that we have sent out the surveys today!
CHECK YOUR EMAIL FOR THE SURVEY(LOOKS LIKE THE IMAGE BELOW)
Just click the blue button and follow the steps!
If you have any other issues then please feel free to contact us: [email protected] or message us through kickstarter!
DIDN'T GET THE SURVEY? (DON'T WORRY)
If you didn't get the survey in your email, first check your SPAM folder. After that if you still don't see it just message us at [email protected] or message us through kickstarter and let us know. (send us your name and your email address!)
COLORS!
In the survey are photos of each color dice under their name.
Every dice is made from aluminum with the exception of the GOLD dice (which is BRASS). That's why it has a metallic gold look. Copper, yellow and rose gold are hard to tell apart in some of the photos. So below are labels to help with color selection. (NOTE: There are more photos in the survey)
Label of colors
Difference between rose gold, yellow, copper and gold (brass).
Black with white dots (More photos in the survey!)
Midnight Blue (more photos in the survey!)

We look forward to seeing what color is most popular
Thanks again for all the support you guys are awesome!

We want to introduce our friends at Keyport and their Kickstarter campaign (which was funded in just over three days) for the Keyport Slide 3.0 and the all-new Keyport Pivot.
These devices are modular, everyday multi-tools that consolidate your keys, pocket tools and smart tech.
Both Keyports are made of aircraft grade aluminum and stainless steel, feature a low profile lanyard, and can accept add-on modules on both sides. Modules featured in the Kickstarter launch include a Bluetooth low energy locator that works with TrackR, a pocketknife designed by Glenn Klecker of Klecker Knives, and a 12 lumen mini-flashlight. Both Keyports even come with KeyportID, an online lost and found service that uses the unique serial number engraved on each Keyport to connect owners and finders directly and anonymously with a click.
